The Teaching and Learning exchange (TaLe) website is available to NSW teachers, parents and students, offering a federated search across 20,000 teaching resources. Boomworks partnered with DET's Centre for Learning Innovation to introduce tagging to the existing site, improving the search capability and allowing users to add their own search terms and create their own lists. There was extensive stakeholder input through review of existing documentation and workshops, and Boomworks conducted a review of existing sites to identify further functionality to be included in a prototype. High-level wireframes and a roadmap for development were created for planning purposes and these were then developed iteratively in conjunction with visual design to create a detailed prototype for user testing. DET developed a proof of concept for a beta testing period, after which TaLe was released for full use to very positive feedback from teachers and staff.
